Southern Cross Electrical Engineering (SCEE) and its recently acquired subsidiary, Heyday, has won approximately $100 million in contracts for works in the construction and resources industries.
SCEE has secured more than $10 million of new work which includes a subcontract for works at Rio Tinto’s Silvergrass East Project – located 100 kilometres North West of Tom Price in WA. The $5 million subcontract is with Decmil and the scope of works include electrical, instrumentation as well as communication works at the Nammuldi central mine services area and the new non-process facilities at the Silvergrass East mine service area.
On the other hand, Heyday has secured approximately $90 million to deliver construction works for a number of projects in Sydney and Canberra. Projects include:

“Heyday has secured a significant amount of new work since we acquired the business in March and continues to see a large opportunity pipeline in the east coast commercial, social infrastructure and transport markets. Our resources business remains a key part of the expanded group as evidenced by our recent awards in both mining and oil and gas,” SCEE Managing Director Graeme Dunn said.
