PlantMiner announces national partnership with SITECH

Australia’s largest online construction marketplace and construction technology leader partner to improve access to equipment telematics information.

PlantMiner and SITECH dealerships throughout Australia announced they are partnering to help construction professionals across Australia better track their equipment location and monitor usage.

VisionLink, a Trimble and Caterpillar joint venture, is the leading fleet, asset and productivity management software for civil construction. VisionLink has been outfitted to the vast majority of Caterpillar built machines since 2010 to process and convey information to users and dealers, becoming an integral part of the Cat product line.

Under the new agreement, PlantMiner will leverage the information from VisionLink, to give their customers access to real-time equipment information that wirelessly reports from the field.

Brisbane-based technology company PlantMiner has grown into Australia’s leading online construction marketplace, becoming a favourite for leading contractors and builders including CPB, Fulton Hogan, BMD and John Holland to source hire equipment and subcontractors for construction and mining sites.

“PlantMiner suppliers - whether senior executives, fleet managers, operators or office teams - will see map based views of where their equipment is, bill it to the correct project, locate it for pickup or further hire work in the area, maintenance, refuelling, and monitor machine hours,” said PlantMiner General Manager Dan Wilson.

“We’ve been collaborating with SITECH, the Authorised Trimble Partner since 2015 but this new exclusive partnership is an incredible next step for PlantMiner. VisionLink software will pull unprecedented amounts of fleet telematic data to our suppliers that will help us better service the construction industry.”

A long-term PlantMiner customer, Dan Jauncey from Matilda Equipment also excitedly anticipates the new feature to their account. “This tech will mean that we can confidently quote for a project or speak to our customers with an accurate machine hours figure. Prospective clients can see where and when our equipment is. The PlantMiner SITECH partnership is a huge bonus.”

Over 13,000 machines in the $7 billion construction equipment hire market already have VisionLink tech enabled. And with 170,000 heavy equipment machines listed for hire through PlantMiner’s platform, suppliers can activate VisionLink software to feed directly into their PlantMiner account, regardless of equipment manufacturer.
