The Isaac Plains East mine - located approximately 7 kilometres east of Moranbah - was under care and maintenance up until Stanmore Coal restarted operations in 2016. Stanmore Coal acquired the mine in 2015, and it is focused at producing metallurgical coal. The mine also represents Stanmore Coal’s largest mining project.
