Newmont Mining Services Pty Limited has awarded the engineering, procurement and engineering management (EPCM) service contract for the Tanami gold project to WorleyParsons.
WorleyParsons’ scope of works under the four-year contract will include pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and performance testing services at the mine’s underground operations. These works will aid in establishing deep shaft and other related mining infrastructure that will help increase production at the Tanami gold mine.
“We look forward to continuing our successful relationship with Newmont and supporting the further development of the Newmont Tanami operation,” WorleyParsons Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wood said.
The Tanami gold project is fully owned and operated by Newmont Mining Services and it is located in the Northern Territory’s remote Tanami Desert - approximately 270 kilometres from Aboriginal community of Yuendumu and 540 kilometres west of Alice Springs.
