Regis Resources Limited has awarded a five-year extension contract valued at approximately $590 million to MACA Limited. The contract is for open pit mining services at the Duketon South gold operations located near Laverton in Western Australia.
This extension contract will involve providing mining services for Duketon South Operations including Rosemont, Garden Well, Erlistoun, Baneygo, Toohey’s Well as well as other potential satellite developments in the region - at Regis Resources’ discretion.
Works covered by MACA’s contract will comprise of open pit mining services that includes drilling and blasting, and loading and hauling.
This awarded contract will also be replacing the existing contracts for works at Garden Well and Rosemont. According to the media statement released by MACA, this extension contract is the result of a collaborative approach between the company and Regis Resources which utilises technology in order to optimise the mine planning across the entire Duketon South Operations as well as ensure the most efficient use of machinery and human resources.
“MACA is delighted to continue its long-standing relationship with Regis at Duketon. The additional tenue ensures we are able to invest in more efficient equipment in order to continue to deliver quality mining services at the lowest cost to Regis,” MACA Executive Director Geoff Baker said.
The tenure for this contract will commence this month and MACA has the option for a further five-year extension thereafter.
