The Expressions of Interest (EOI) process has been opened for the $100 million Ballarat GovHub project in Victoria, marking a major milestone for the development.
The Victorian Government has invested approximately $47.8 million towards this development, which will transform the Civic Hall site.
GovHub is one of the most significant infrastructure investments and construction programs in the history of Ballarat. Currently, there are $500 million worth of projects underway in this region.
Under the Victorian Industry Participation Policy, the delivery of GovHub requires the utilisation of local firms, materials, expertise and skills as well as deliver flow on benefits to the local economy.
"This will mean more jobs right in the heart of Ballarat."
"This project will be transformational and breath new life into Ballarat's CBD," Minister for Regional Development Jaala Pulford said.

The Ballarat GovHub will feature an active ground floor area that incorporates the bricks and masonry theme of the Civic Hall precinct. The new building will also include a refurbished lower hall for mixed-use purposes, a glass conservatory that links the Civic Hall to the GovHub as well as five storeys of office space and car parking.
Once Govhub is completed, it will house up to 1,000 government employees and it will also contribute to the region’s economic growth by relocation approximately 600 government jobs from Melbourne.
The EOI process for this project is managed by Development Victoria and it is open for submission until 21 May 2018. The EOI documentation can be found at Tenders VIC. Shortlisted applicants will be identified and invited to tender later this year, with construction expected to commence by the end of 2018.
Throughout the planning and construction stages of the project, the State Government will continue to engage with the Ballarat community for the successful delivery of GovHub.
