A major milestone has been marked on Western Australia’s Wanneroo Road and Ocean Reef Road Interchange development, with the WBHO infrastructure Pty Ltd - SRG Civil Pty Ltd Joint Venture awarded the contract - valued at $41.6 million - to design and build the project.
“The Wanneroo and Ocean Reef Road interchange is one of the busiest intersections in Perth’s North Metropolitan area.
“This project will alleviate congestion and improve journey times and safety for road users and pedestrians. WBHO, alongside SRG, are looking forward to be working closely with Main Roads WA to deliver this critical piece of infrastructure in Perth,” WBHO Executive General Manager Will Grobler said.

The Wanneroo Road and Ocean Reef Road Interchange is jointly funded by the Australian and State Governments and is covered by the $2.3 billion road and rail infrastructure fund announced in 2017.
Scope of works of this project will include:
Construction of a bridge
Bridge off and on ramps including traffic signals
Services relocation and drainage improvements
Realignment of paths and pedestrian crossing points
Specialist engineering as well as project planning works are anticipated to commence in early 2019, with major construction works expected to take up to 18 months to complete.
Once completed, the upgraded interchange will provide better capacity and traffic flow as well as less congestion and improved safety for all motorists passing through the route.
