Perri Projects – a Melbourne-based developer – has been given the thumbs up to begin construction on a $50 million boutique hotel in South Melbourne. The development will comprise of a five-storey building with 80 rooms and is going to be located at the corner of Moray and Dorcas Streets.

The boutique hotel will feature a pool, gym and business centre. This project is also intended to be part of a bigger mixed-use development which will include restaurants, shops as well as rooftop function and an event centre.

“Our current strategy is to develop and retain a significant portfolio of the retail and commercial facilities in our mixed-use masterplanned developments so we view investing in hotels as an extension of that,” said Perri Projects’ Managing Director David Scalzo.

The permit to develop the boutique hotel was recently granted by the City of Port Phillip and the Plus Architecture-designed building is set to open in 2020.
